As President Biden’s raging inflation crisis pushed prices higher and higher for Florida families, Senator Rick Scott continues to highlight how the president’s reckless tax-and-spend agenda of systemic socialism is sending prices up and demand a change in policy. This week, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose to 5.4% in September, the highest since January 1991, and the Producer Price Index (PPI) increased to 8.6% over the year, the largest advance since the 12-month change was first calculated in 2010.
Following the this week’s CPI report, Senator Rick Scott said, “Joe Biden and Democrats are leading our nation down a dark economic path of fewer jobs, higher prices and less opportunity. The question is, how many months will Joe Biden’s complete ignorance go on before he realizes his socialist agenda is killing our economy and hurting American families? I grew up poor, and watched as my parents struggled to stretch every penny to support our family. Now, we’re seeing families all across America deal with that same hardship. I’m hearing from Florida families and businesses every day. They’re worried. They’re worried about not being able to afford to put food on the table when surging gas and food prices make budgets even tighter. They’re worried their own government is working against their best interests with overreaching socialist policies that take their choice and opportunity away. Joe Biden’s presidency has been an unmitigated disaster for families and businesses. He has failed them over and over. The American people have had enough. I won’t let Joe Biden and his systemic socialism kill the American Dream.”

Senator Scott is also calling for Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo to testify in the Senate Commerce Committee on how the Biden administration is addressing supply chain issues that are causing empty shelves and further fueling Biden’s inflation crisis.

The DEMOCRACIA Act implements severe sanctions against Communist Cuba and closes existing sanctions gaps.
